Connie is a gentle spirited woman of Acadian descent who grew up in Clementsport with her parents and younger sister. She now lives in the Annapolis Royal area with her partner, Maurice and her son, Tyler.
Connie has worked
with the Annapolis Valley Regional School Board since 1992, where she has enjoyed frequent opportunities
to share basic
art skills with elementary students through Art Enrichment Programs.
In the year 2000, Connie was invited to Iceland where she explored the breathtaking beauty throughout and surrounding Reykjavik, and instructed and illustrated decorative painting to 3 groups of people a day during her 18 day trip.
Through 1998, 99, 2000 & 2001, Connie operated a commercial arts & crafts studio in Cornwallis Park where she instructed adults during the mornings and evenings. From there, she partnered in the development of a line of hand painted giftware that was produced for the Atlantic Canadian Trade Show in Halifax for 4 seasons. Wholesale buyers from throughout Canada carried this product line in their fine arts and crafts shops for the tourist seasons. Eventually Connie grew tired of this and decided to move on to fine arts at a casual pace which allowed her to enjoy time with her family and give her the opportunity to relax and explore the “freedom to paint simply for the love of it“. She dabbles in pencil, watercolour, charcoal, & chalks but her all-time favourite medium is acrylic.
